Additional filter installation update – plan your new journey!

Dear all,

With the installation of the additional filters within the Ferndale LTN, people using a vehicle may need to change their journey route to access their home.

Below we have clarified the changes within the Ferndale LTN and the effect of this on commonly used routes:

The improvements comprise the following:

- Removal of traffic filter on Concanon Road

- Introduction of a new traffic filter on Santley Street between Ducie Street and Concanon Road

- Introduction of a new traffic filter on Ferndale Road between Ducie Street and Medwin Street

The removal of the filter on Concanon Road will lead to changes for residents/visitors travelling by vehicle to the following streets/areas:

- Dolman Street

- Glendall Street

- Bythorn Street

- Edmundsbury Court Estate

Drivers can now gain access to the destinations above by travelling from Acre Lane and Concanon Road.

Access for those on Ducie Street and Tintern street can be gained by turning into Ferndale Road via Bedford Road.

Access for those on Santley Street, Medwin Street and Allardyce Street can be gained via Concanon Road.

It should be noted, for those using active travel modes, such as walking, cycling, wheeling, and scooting, the new filters will not impact your journeys within Ferndale LTN.

We hope this helps with planning your journey.
