Ferndale Low Traffic Neighbourhood Newsletter 10.05.21

This is an update from the Low Traffic Neighbourhood team at Lambeth Council.

The changes to the filters in Ferndale have now been completed and we are receiving feedback and questions from residents. We recognise that there will be a bedding in period for residents and other motorists to get used to the changes and for way finder apps to be updated.

Lansdowne School planting party

On the 28th of April Father Nature and their team hosted a planting party with Lansdowne School. Two teachers and 8 pupils had a great time planting up the Combermere and Dalyell Road planter. Father Nature will be providing the school with seasonal bulbs and seeds so they can have more planting sessions in the future. Head down to see their brilliant handy work! If you want to host a planting party this Summer for a planter near you, please get in touch.

Father Nature are offering planting parties to local residents, community groups and organisations. They will provide free bulbs and refreshments for you to plant up the Low Traffic Neighbourhood beds

Question and Answer sessions:

The next Ferndale LTN Q&A session will be held on Thursday 27th May, 17:00-18:00 .

If you would like to register for this event, please send your name, your address and question to: lowtrafficneighbourhoods@lambeth.gov.uk using ‘Ferndale Q and A’ in the subject line. We will keep you updated on further details of the location / format which will be in line with covid restrictions.

Questions registered at least 3 working days before the scheduled event would be prioritised for discussion.

If the scheme is meeting its objectives, a public consultation will follow later this year during which we will proactively gather views on the changes, to be considered alongside objective data collected before a decision is taken on the future of the scheme.

The recordings from the April Q&A sessions are available to view on the Commonplace – community meetings page here.

Stage 2 Monitoring:

Traffic counts will begin when the scheme has settled in and enforcement has been active for a number of weeks. We are also working on air pollution modelling that will indicate levels of NO2, PM10 and PM2.5 both prior to the LTN and currently. This data will be made available as part of the stage 2 monitoring along with a collation of all community feedback to date.
